Checking In: Mental Health Awareness Month
Whatever you’re feeling and experiencing, we’re here to support and encourage you as you take care of yourself. Throughout this month, we’re offering educational and experiential programs that teach self-care and coping skills, including opportunities for yoga, bullet-journaling, and conversation with others about mental health. Check out some of these opportunities on the University events calendar.
I Love Pitt Day 2023
Panthers, join us in celebrating Pitt tomorrow during I Love Pitt Day 2023! It'll be a day full of free t-shirts, activities, food, and fun! The theme this year is "Let's Grow Pitt," with festivities happening all across campus. View more information here and get ready to H2P all day!
Mental Health Awareness Month
At Pitt, Mental Health Awareness Month (MHAM) is an annual observance held during the month of October to spread awareness, promote understanding, and diminish the stigma behind mental health. To learn some more about the myriad of events being held throughout the month, we talked to one of our students leading the effort for Mental Health Awareness Month, Sanai Overton. Sanai is the Student Government Board’s Wellness Chair and leads in planning Mental Health Awareness Month.

September is Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month. As clinicians and as Pitt administrators, one of our most pressing concerns is suicide prevention among college students.
