The Office of Health Education and Promotion offers education courses on alcohol (PEAR) and cannabis (PACE) which are used to fulfill educational sanctions for substance-related sanctions at the University. These programs can also be taken voluntarily by Pitt students. Please note: PEAR and PACE courses are education classes and not intended to fulfill court ordered substance use assessments or counseling.
PEAR (Personal Education, Assistance, and Referral) courses are used for alcohol violations. These courses education on alcohol and the body, alcohol emergencies, impacts of decision making, and resources that are available for students.
PACE (Personal Assistance and Cannabis Education) courses are used for cannabis violations. These courses explore the impact of cannabis on legal, social, and health aspects, impacts decision making, and resources that are available for students.
