Shavonna holds a PsyD from Carlow University, where she also obtained her MS in Professional Counseling. She completed an APA accredited doctoral internship at the University of Akron, specializing in ADHD assessment, and was trained as a generalist practitioner to address a wide range of mental health concerns. Her background includes working in diverse settings such as an inpatient psychiatric hospital, college counseling centers, a partial hospitalization program, a Pre-K-12 school, and a medication-assisted treatment facility. In her therapeutic work, Shavonna integrates various modalities, with a strong emphasis on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), all within an attachment and multicultural framework.
