Nabors comes to Pitt from Endicott College, where he served as the senior student affairs officer for more than four years. While at Endicott, Dean Nabors helped create a one-stop student concern reporting page for faculty and staff, co-chaired a campus-wide strategic planning committee focused on student engagement and success, led the creation of a division-wide co-curricular strategy for engaging students, and facilitated the launch of five new living-learning communities tied to first-year writing courses.
With over 20 years of experience in higher education, Dean Nabors brings to Pitt profound expertise in student affairs leadership and a deep commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive campus environments.
A proud alumnus of Central Michigan University and a first-generation college graduate, Marlin earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Sociology. He later earned a master’s degree from Syracuse University in Cultural Foundations of Education, furthering his commitment to social justice and equitable educational opportunities for all students.
In his role at Pitt, Dean Nabors oversees the Community and Inclusion Team, the Wellness Team, and the Student Engagement and Professional Development Team. He plays a vital part in advancing the mission and vision of the Division, which is focused on fostering inclusive excellence and supporting student success by cultivating a sense of belonging, engagement, well-being, and learning. His leadership will be crucial in continuing to build a campus climate that supports the holistic development of all students, ensuring that they have the resources and support to thrive both academically and personally.
