Alex is a licensed clinical social worker who serves as the Assistant Director - Clinical Services. He earned his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pittsburgh in the direct practice mental health tract. His undergraduate work in social work was completed at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA. Alex seeks to meet folks where they are at and utilize curiosity and empathy to partner and move alongside folks to assist and empower them to navigate challenges they may face. He utilizes multiple modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapy. Alex’s professional interests include crisis intervention and management, safety planning, mood management, program development, and supervision and training and is proud to have been an inaugural HEART clinician, helping build crisis co-response services in and around campus. He enjoys spending time with his family, umpiring baseball, and is a fan of Superman, Star Trek, and baseball.
