Leadership Development offers a selection of dynamic and interactive workshop topics tailored for student organizations and residence hall floors. Simply choose a topic, and one of our experienced Leadership Coaches will visit your organization/floor to facilitate the session.

Think you have to do everything to get it done right? Think again. In this fast-paced, LEGO-fueled workshop, you’ll take on a team challenge that puts your delegation skills to the test. Learn how to give clear instructions, build trust, and play to your team’s strengths—then walk away with smart strategies to lead without the overload.

From Tension to Teamwork: Conflict Resolution for College Life

Conflict is part of life — but it doesn’t have to be uncomfortable or unproductive. In this interactive workshop, you will explore how to navigate disagreements with confidence, empathy, and respect. Through fun activities, role play and a real-life challenge, participants will practice the difference between debating to win and dialoguing to understand. You’ll leave with practical tools to handle everyday conflicts more calmly and collaboratively.

Lead Like You: Unlock Your Leadership Style

Explore your leadership style and how different personalities power a team. Through quick, interactive activities, you’ll gain practical insights to communicate better, collaborate smoothly, and lead with greater self-awareness.

Talk It Out: Say What You Mean, Mean What You Say

Ready to level up your communication game?  Sharpen your communication skills through hands-on activities, peer practice, and real-world scenarios. Explore values and learn how to bridge the gap between intent and impact. Come for the real talk—leave with tools to speak clearly, listen better, and connect like a pro.

Student Organization Certification Process

Blue Organization

Organizations who complete one (1) Leadership Lab Workshop will be eligible for the following:

  • Small token of appreciation for each participant
  • Free snacks for the next workshop when your organization schedules and completes in the same academic year
Gold Organization

Organizations who complete three (3) Leadership Lab Workshops will be eligible for the following:

  • Small token of appreciation for each participant
  • Framed certificate
  • Pizza for the next workshop when your organization schedules and completes in the same academic year
Platinum Organization

Organizations have completed all six (6) of the Leadership Lab Workshops will be eligible for the following:

  • Small token of appreciation for each participant
  • Framed certificate
  • Recognition on Leadership Development Social Media
  • Recognition at end of year Forge Gala
  • Ice cream party supplies

Residence Hall Incentive Program

Each time a Resident Assistant (RA) schedules a Leadership Lab workshop for their floor, they will receive one entry to an end of year pizza party for their floor.  Up to three residence hall floors will win a pizza party.  All participants will receive a small token of appreciation.

I love getting to work with all the student organizations on campus and equipping their members with leadership skills they can use throughout their lives!

What do you like most about being a leader at Pitt?

I enjoy getting to meet and collaborate with other student leaders on projects that benefit the University.

What do you like to do in your free time outside of classes?

In my free time, I enjoy playing the acoustic guitar, biking, and pickleball!

What advice do you have for students looking to develop their leadership skills?

Take advantage of any and all opportunities that can come your way! Whether a workshop like this, a guest speaker, or a member-led event, each opportunity provides a chance for students to learn and grow as leaders.
