After experiencing, witnessing, or being involved with a traumatic incident, you may be feeling overwhelmed and not sure what to do. Before making any decisions, you may want to talk with someone confidentially as you decide what next steps are best for you. There is no one correct response to these incidents– simply different options to access support and different reporting options.
In an effort to break the cycle of trauma, there is a need for ALL to have access to services; survivors, bystanders, witnesses, and those who have caused harm. Care Advocate services are accessible to students in these categories.
Services are tailored to meet your unique needs. Care Advocates can assist with:
- Resources that can help reduce negative impacts of trauma
- Explore how to best address your overall needs
- Education on healthy relationship practices
- Navigating University systems and procedures
- Information on the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX reporting process
