Funding and Resources

In collaboration with the Student Government Board, the Department of Student Involvement offers access to three programmatic funds. These funds have the primary goal of enhancing the vibrant campus experience by providing financial assistance for programs that contribute to the campus community's enrichment. Organizations that meet the eligibility criteria can utilize these funds to further enhance the engagement and enjoyment of the University community. We appreciate your dedication to cultivating a dynamic and inclusive campus environment.

We recommend that Recognized Student Organizations initially seek support from the Student Government Board, as this programmatic fund is specifically tailored to assist events facing challenges in securing funding through the standard Allocations process. This may encompass events with significant resource requirements or those that make substantial contributions to the University's cultural or social landscape.

Traditions Funds

A Tradition is a custom, event, or ritual that has been meaningfully and consistently practiced within the university community over a sustained period, reflecting shared values, history, and identity. Traditions are typically passed down between student generations and are recognized as part of the institution’s cultural fabric. Within the context of DSI funds these are events that have occurred between 5 - 15+ years:

  • 5 years: Minimum for emerging traditions. These are events or customs that have shown consistent annual recurrence and student participation across multiple cohorts.
  • 10 years: Standard benchmark for established traditions. At this point, a practice has persisted through at least two full student cycles and become embedded in institutional culture.
  • 15+ years: Deeply rooted tradition. These are typically historic, intergenerational, and highly recognized as part of the campus identity.

New Initiatives/Impactful Experiences Fund

Facilitates the implementation of initiatives that have the potential to create a meaningful and positive impact on the student body or the broader community.

Service Organization Funds

Supports service-oriented organizations hosting programs ineligible for funding through the typical allocation process. Their primary focus is on encouraging and facilitating community service, volunteerism, and initiatives that contribute to the betterment of society.
