All classes provided in the Stress Free Zone (SFZ) are first come, first serve. Registration is required. Yoga mats, blocks, straps and bolsters are provided for all classes. We recommend bringing water and a face towel and wearing relaxed, comfortable clothing. Please plan to arrive to each class at least 5-10 minutes early to allow time for checking in. Walk In Hours are open to all Pitt students to try any of our relaxation stations and practice Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. Come in and ask a Peer Educator to give you a tour!

- Classes are drop-in format, and registration is required for each individual class.
- Reserving a spot is on a first come first served basis.
- Registration for each individual class opens two (2) days prior to the scheduled date
To register for a Stress Free Zone class, visit the Campus Recreation Member Portal and select “Stress Free Zone” or “Group Fitness”.
- Participation in all Group Fitness classes requires a membership (free). To sign up for a Group Fitness membership, visit the Campus Recreation Member Portal and select “Memberships”.

Join us for an opportunity to relax both the body and the mind. Meet us for a yoga experience welcoming of individuals of all identities and backgrounds to experience connection with mind, body, and our environment. Yoga is an opportunity to learn and connect with others and the world around you. From the experienced yogi to the person wanting to just wanting to try it out, all are welcome. Afterwards counselors from the University Counseling Center will debrief and provide opportunity to share about your experience with your peers.

Nature in Action: Cycle & Flow

Pitt Bike Cave and Cathedral Lawn (Upper Lawn and 5th)
Combining a ride and flow event for all students who are looking to connect with nature through multiple platforms. We’ll meet at the Bike Cave to begin our adventure through our beautiful Oakland neighborhood and end our (roughly 45 minute) ride on the Cathedral Lawn to stretch, slow down and breathe with a 45 minute yoga class. Students are welcome to attend both the Bike Ride and the Yoga session, or just meet us at the Cathedral Lawn for yoga. With all Natural Connections event, University Counseling Center staff will be available to debrief, connect, or ask questions.

Have you ever walked past students hanging in hammocks outside the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and thought that looked so relaxing? This is your chance! Campus Recreation will provide the hammocks, the Stress Free Zone will provide the meditation, and as with all Natural Connections event, University Counseling Center staff will be available to debrief, connect, or ask questions.

Nature in Action: Grounding Meditation
Friday, November 1 at noon - 1 p.m. (Heinz Chapel)
Begin the month of November with purposeful intention. Join the Stress Free Zone inside beautiful Heinz Memorial Chapel for an afternoon of intention setting and meditation. Whether you have never meditated or are a seasoned practitioner, you are welcome. Once we conclude inside, all students are invited to stay intentional for their commute home (or to their cars) as the brisk air of November in Pittsburgh can sometimes be a beautiful awakening. We’ll find ways within our intentional meditation to stay present and use the coming darker skies and brisker air to keep us grounded. University Counseling Center staff will be there to debrief your experience or support you as you need.
