PITT ARTS is proud to present a performance of Afro Blue, Howard University's premier vocal jazz ensemble in Nordy's Place in the Lower Level of The William Pitt Union from 12 PM-12:45 PM on Friday, October 31. Snacks will be provided. Created by Professor Connaitre Miller in 2002, Afro Blue performs in a style similar to Manhattan Transfer and Take 6, while adding its own unique sound. The choir has been awarded multiple Student Music Awards by DownBeat Magazine; has been featured on NPR's All Things Considered; and reached the top four in NBC-TV's The Sing-Off, an a cappella group singing competition. Afro Blue has been brought to the University of Pittsburgh by Pitt's distinguished Jazz Seminar and Concert, celebrating its 44th year.
